The red is brownish -- sort of a brick or a sienna color, and the gold is subdued, earthen, not garish. The rope braid is substantial, not flimsy, and the sham is lined with a thin layer of poly fill -- another unexpected extra. The extra accent pillow pack finishes the comforter set off perfectly. I am very pleased with the beautiful warmth of this quality set, and the value is simply amazing.

My husband jokes because it took me almost a year to decide on the set I wanted. It is very pretty, warm colors though not as bright as it looked to me in the photos (could be my eyes). It is very thick and gives that cozy heavy feel you want on a cold night. The size was very generous, reaching almost to the floor and we have a very tall bed. We love it and are looking forward to doing more shopping on Amazon. Thank-You.

The photo shows the quilt pulled down and forward. It is not meant to be worn this way. We recommend pulling it up to the top of the bed so that the quilt only goes halfway down the sides. A dust ruffle or bedskirt shoul be used with a quilt.

Kettle Grove Quilt Review

(More customer reviews)Couldn't tell from the picture but each square on the quilt does have a pattern, was expecting some solids. It isn't as bright as the picture the ivory and beige squares are darker, almost as if the entire quilt once made was soaked in tea. Positives - it is a GREAT quality quilt, not only are the squares stitched at the edges there's two rows of stitching through each square. The size is perfect for me, I bought the regular king and it drops on each side to about 8" from the floor (we do not have a thick mattress) which hides the top of the bed rails. It is a nice weight, not light but not heavy. I like the reverse side better, it is the darker heavier on the black plaid pattern with tan. Overall happy, with the stitching and 100% cotton expect it to last a long time and the size is generous. If you are finicky it will require ironing however.

Columbine Cody Charlotte Bedspread Review

(More customer reviews)This cotton jacquard bedspread (twin Ecru) is very pretty with a beautiful sweet medallion in the center, not very thick (not like matelasse thick), and is well constructed. However, after washing and drying it shrank significantly (at least 10 inches on the width) and I spent an hour to steam iron it to return to its original size as much as possible. After the ironing, the bedspread still lot 5-6 inches in width. The current width is about 75 inches and length is still fine to tug the pillow. Luckily the shortened width does not bother me too much. The bedspread doesn't come close to the floor but still cover the bottom part of the bed frame. I think even if there was no shrinkage, ironing is still required because it is just too wrinkled to look nice.
Giving it 4 stars is probably too generous given its shrinkage issue. However I just love the look of it on the bed -- it is indeed very beautiful. The picture of a folded bedspread on Amazon really does not do justice at all, neither is the color in the picture accurate. The Ecru bedspread is more like off white or bone -- very lovely, not the brownish/dark beige color in the picture. So if you don't mind spending an hour ironing it or dry cleaning it then I would recommend it.
