(More customer reviews)This cotton jacquard bedspread (twin Ecru) is very pretty with a beautiful sweet medallion in the center, not very thick (not like matelasse thick), and is well constructed. However, after washing and drying it shrank significantly (at least 10 inches on the width) and I spent an hour to steam iron it to return to its original size as much as possible. After the ironing, the bedspread still lot 5-6 inches in width. The current width is about 75 inches and length is still fine to tug the pillow. Luckily the shortened width does not bother me too much. The bedspread doesn't come close to the floor but still cover the bottom part of the bed frame. I think even if there was no shrinkage, ironing is still required because it is just too wrinkled to look nice.
Giving it 4 stars is probably too generous given its shrinkage issue. However I just love the look of it on the bed -- it is indeed very beautiful. The picture of a folded bedspread on Amazon really does not do justice at all, neither is the color in the picture accurate. The Ecru bedspread is more like off white or bone -- very lovely, not the brownish/dark beige color in the picture. So if you don't mind spending an hour ironing it or dry cleaning it then I would recommend it.
