My husband jokes because it took me almost a year to decide on the set I wanted. It is very pretty, warm colors though not as bright as it looked to me in the photos (could be my eyes). It is very thick and gives that cozy heavy feel you want on a cold night. The size was very generous, reaching almost to the floor and we have a very tall bed. We love it and are looking forward to doing more shopping on Amazon. Thank-You.

The photo shows the quilt pulled down and forward. It is not meant to be worn this way. We recommend pulling it up to the top of the bed so that the quilt only goes halfway down the sides. A dust ruffle or bedskirt shoul be used with a quilt.

It would not add a lot of warmth to your bed, but you can always layer it over a thicker comforter, and have this beautiful quilt as the artwork for your bed. By the way, you can also get this quilt at JCPenney.

(More customer reviews)I got these as a wedding gift (that I registered for) without the matching shams, and for some reason I decided to return them. Well, the return didn't work out (I didn't buy it from Amazon) and I'm sooo happy I got to keep these quilts!
From the pictures I thought that they were thick comforters, but they're much thinner than that. They're a perfect in between blanket, and very very comfortable. We used them in the summer with our air blasting or when there was a cool breeze, and now that the weather is turning they are still perfect.
The pattern is very classy and the fabric is soft. I can tell that they are great quality and will last for years. I also like that they can go with so many different patterns of sheets. We have two twin size ones and they each cover very generously (the last thing you want is a blanket that's a wee bit too small!)

Through the idea of our "patchwork heritage" we become powerful, our different shapes and sizes sewn together for one common purpose. This is the idea that the Patchwork Heritage Quilt celebrates.
The front of the quilt is comprised of 13 different fabrics representing our original 13 colonies, while the reverse of the quilt features the President's inaugural speech highlighting the words "patchwork heritage".

Beside, the thickness looks quite decent for cold weather. There is still downside that the fabric is not really characterized by skilky touch, and I may need additional blanket inside the comforter for seriously cold weather.
