(More customer reviews)Some years ago I invested in one of those sleep number mattresses for my now departed wife and myself. While it was sold with a long guarantee, like most warranties, the warranty included was pro-rated so over the successive years as parts of the mattress were worn badly I was left buying a new pillow top and case for the air chamber components. As I went to install the new components I saw how badly worn the original items were, and how dirty and yellowed the original pillow top had gotten. Sweat and body oils wore through the linens and eventually stained the white pillow top.
With new components in place I'm doing the best I can to keep things nice and like new and that meant finding a product like this to use to keep body oils and such off the mattress. I wish this was perhaps a little less expensive, but given the price that I paid for the new mattress components buying this mattress cover is a reasonable investment, especially given the 'odd' size (Olympic Queen) of my mattress.
This mattress cover isn't noticable when installed (a very good thing) and doesn't at all change the comfort of the mattress or the sheet that covers it. Highly recommended for helping to extend the life of your mattress :-)

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a WATERPROOF mattress pad for some time. I wanted something that worked, but didn't want to pay a fortune for it. I've had several pads that either weren't really waterproof, fell apart after only one wash, etc. Anyway, decided to try this one out. I bought it from LinenSpa, but fulfilled by Amazon so that I could get the free shipping (LinenSpa Mattress Protector Deep Pocket 100% Waterproof & Dust Mite Protection, QUEEN). First off, for those of you wondering who manufacturers the pad ... it's Undercovers by MALOUF (malouffinelinens). Second, don't think you are getting a GREAT deal (a deal, but not a GREAT deal) ... this is no where near a $100+ mattress pad. Third, I'm not sure how much of a dust or mite barrier the pad really is since it only covers the top part of the mattress. The pad does appear that it will protect the mattress against a toddler's nighttime accidents (which is why I bought it) and stand up to hot water washings (although, I don't know for sure). The pad went on easy, fits securely, and feels nice (terry towel on top and kind of a rubbery texture on bottom ... not bulky at all). I still put a waterproof pad Basic Comfort Handy's Mattress Pad by Summer Infant over the sheet to make changes quick and easy (especially at night). So far, I am happy with my purchase. I will update this review after I've had the pad for a little while.

(More customer reviews)I have these mattress pads on all my beds in the house and so does my mother. I love how thin it is and yet it is still waterproof. This is also a really good price. I recommend them to everyone. I do put them in the dryer but on a low setting. It seems like once you take them off the bed that undercoating is vunerable to puncture so I am pretty gentle with them once they are off the bed. My toddler has one for her bed and she is pretty rough on her big girl bed and it has held up to her abuse. We have two for our tempurpedic. I had a thicker waterproof barrier pad when I was pregnant with my first child and it was horrible. It made that plastic sound everytime you moved and it also held a ton of heat. You don't even know this one is on the bed. I felt safe with my second pregnancy that if my water broke it would protect my mattress.

(More customer reviews)I have allergies, and decided to cover my mattress, box spring, and pillows with allergy proof covers. I tried this years ago and really didn't like the stiffness of the material, and felt like they were too crinkly and made me too warm because they didn't allow air to breathe through.
Pros:
1) These are the perfect shape if you have European sized pillows, which are often used for decoration on a bed. I have covered all my bedding with different types of allergy proof casings, and was not able to find any in this size. It was frustrating because I didn't want to leave these pillows on the bed if they were going to retain dust mites, defeating the whole purpose of covering everything else.
2) They are easy to put on, and the pillows just glide inside and zipper up. They are very easy to wash.
Cons:
1) These are not the most comfortable of covers, and they feel a lot like the covers I had years ago. At the same time, I don't use these pillows to sleep on - they are mainly for decoration so the material doesn't matter as much to me.
Recommended if you have European sized (large square) decorative pillows for your bed. Not so recommended if you are looking for a soft, breathable pillow cover that mimics regular cotton cases.

PROS:
~Does not have the cheap, vinyl feel to it like more expensive brands do.
~Quiet
~Easy to put on (I put it on by myself on a queen size mattress in about 3 minutes)
~Well made (I was doing a lot of tugging on it since I was putting it on by myself...other brands have ripped, this one did not).
CONS:
It says that it is 17" deep, my mattress is a pillow top and is about 13.5" and this encasement fits it snugly. I would say that if your mattress is more than 15", this probably would be too small. I just don't see how you could fit a mattress closer to 17" in this encasement since it fits my bed almost perfectly.

We did have a friend whose student put on his cover only to pull too hard and split the seams of the zippered cover. I don't know if the mattresses were the same height and size, but we warned our child about this incident, before she made the bed. The cover seems to do the trick and again, this was just a mom's paranoia that drove me to buy this item.
