(More customer reviews)Some years ago I invested in one of those sleep number mattresses for my now departed wife and myself. While it was sold with a long guarantee, like most warranties, the warranty included was pro-rated so over the successive years as parts of the mattress were worn badly I was left buying a new pillow top and case for the air chamber components. As I went to install the new components I saw how badly worn the original items were, and how dirty and yellowed the original pillow top had gotten. Sweat and body oils wore through the linens and eventually stained the white pillow top.
With new components in place I'm doing the best I can to keep things nice and like new and that meant finding a product like this to use to keep body oils and such off the mattress. I wish this was perhaps a little less expensive, but given the price that I paid for the new mattress components buying this mattress cover is a reasonable investment, especially given the 'odd' size (Olympic Queen) of my mattress.
This mattress cover isn't noticable when installed (a very good thing) and doesn't at all change the comfort of the mattress or the sheet that covers it. Highly recommended for helping to extend the life of your mattress :-)

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a WATERPROOF mattress pad for some time. I wanted something that worked, but didn't want to pay a fortune for it. I've had several pads that either weren't really waterproof, fell apart after only one wash, etc. Anyway, decided to try this one out. I bought it from LinenSpa, but fulfilled by Amazon so that I could get the free shipping (LinenSpa Mattress Protector Deep Pocket 100% Waterproof & Dust Mite Protection, QUEEN). First off, for those of you wondering who manufacturers the pad ... it's Undercovers by MALOUF (malouffinelinens). Second, don't think you are getting a GREAT deal (a deal, but not a GREAT deal) ... this is no where near a $100+ mattress pad. Third, I'm not sure how much of a dust or mite barrier the pad really is since it only covers the top part of the mattress. The pad does appear that it will protect the mattress against a toddler's nighttime accidents (which is why I bought it) and stand up to hot water washings (although, I don't know for sure). The pad went on easy, fits securely, and feels nice (terry towel on top and kind of a rubbery texture on bottom ... not bulky at all). I still put a waterproof pad Basic Comfort Handy's Mattress Pad by Summer Infant over the sheet to make changes quick and easy (especially at night). So far, I am happy with my purchase. I will update this review after I've had the pad for a little while.

(More customer reviews)I just want to say...if you are on the fence about purchasing this memory foam mattress cover and the free pillows that come with it.....BUY IT!! Both of us are having the best sleep of our lives now. He has sleep apnea and I am a major insomniac that wakes up every 20 minutes. We bought this...and now (NO KIDDING) I don't wake up at all and he is waking up feeling VERY well rested. Heck....we are so comfortable that he has been late for work a lot lately. So, if you do get this...invest in a LOUD alarm clock!
As for back pain...I was in a severe car accident and have constant back pain. He had suddenly started getting back pain for no apparent reason. Once we got the mattress pad (memory foam), his back pain completely went away and mine is about 60% better.
Let me just say something quick about the pillows too....they are FABULOUS. We stored our old pillows away after one night on these memory foam pillows. We were quite pleasantly surprised with them. We THOUGHT they would just be crappy little free pillows that came with the expensive mattress cover....but NO.....they are quite thick and VERY comfortable. They do lose their shape every night...so we have to spend about 5 seconds per day putting them back into proper shape. Quite frankly, I don't mind that at all. THey are THE best pillows I ever laid my head on!
WHAT A GREAT DEAL! I AM A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE NOW!!! (And we figure...even if these only last a year before needing replaced, we don't care! We will just buy a new one every year if that is what it takes to stay sleeping this well.)
EVERYONE ON EARTH SHOULD HAVE THIS!!!

(More customer reviews)Our name-brand spring mattress was too firm and uncomfortable for me, but was comfortable for my husband. Rather than buying an expensive bed with different firmness options on each side, I began looking into twin-size viscoelastic mattress toppers, figuring that I could place one on just my side of our queen-size bed. I ended up buying this one just over a year ago because it is 4-lb foam (as opposed to the 2.5-lb. foam used in many of the cheaper toppers).
Using this topper on just half of a queen-size bed (a use for which it is not specifically designed) does have its aesthetic drawbacks: when you look at the bed, my side is noticeably higher than my husband's side, and you can also clearly see that the topper overhangs the edge of the bed by quite a bit. So if a neatly made bed is important to you, this solution may not be for you. (Of course, if you buy a topper that actually fits the entire top surface of your mattress, the appearance will probably be much neater; I'm only describing the way a twin-size topper fits one-half of a queen-size bed.) Nevertheless, it has provided us with an affordable alternative to buying a completely new mattress.
Some people who buy toppers like this one seem to regard the improvement in their sleep comfort level as near-miraculous; perhaps their beds were worse to begin with, because I wouldn't go that far in my praise. However, the topper has definitely helped me sleep better and more comfortably. I am able to lie in a given position for a much longer period of time, and I no longer wake up constantly in order to turn over. I have had this topper for over a year now, and it is holding up extremely well; I can't yet detect any decrease in comfort.
Finally, a word or two about the smell of viscoelastic foam: With this topper, I found that the smell did gradually go away; I don't remember how long it took to do so, but I think it was probably at least a couple of weeks before it dropped to a level where I ceased to notice it. If you are sensitive to smells, you may find that you notice it for longer than that, so please do take that into consideration when buying memory foam bedding.
If you need a new bed, get a new bed. However, if you have a perfectly good bed that is just a bit too firm for you, a viscoelastic mattress topper like this one may be just the ticket.

We've had ours for six months now and I am always amazed at the fiber that still look as fluffy as the first day! (I had bought the crib size Imperial Snugleece for my daughter and while it is washable, it will not resist compression like the Original does)
It is also easy to maintain: if you accidently spill liquid on your pad, it can very easily be spot cleanned with a wool product such as Kookaburra woolwash because wool resist water.

It's a simple cover for just the top of a mattress that stays in place with elastic bands on each corner that wrap around the mattress. It provides protection in case of spills and prevents dust from settling on the mattress. I applaud the vendor for carrying this. It used to be very easy to find; now it is not. I use it for my convertible sofa mattress. Although the elastic bands can fit around a very deep mattress, they also stay in place with my 4" deep mattress and provide an extra layer of cushioning.

I decided to get it so I could turn my heat down and the cat would stay warm while I was away. Sounds like a crazy cat lady thing to do, but someone else suggested it to save on heating costs instead of heating the whole house. I never considered any kind of heated bedding before this.
I'm usually a warm person and can't stand being too hot at night, but after a month with this mattress pad I've found myself keeping it on high heat at all times and loving every minute of it. The heat comes from underneath instead of suffocating you from above. The way it works is the heat is trapped by your body or bedding on top of it. Otherwise it's average room temperature if not covered by something. It's a gentle heat that doesn't sweat you out from under the blankets, but it's warm enough to chase away the chills on a cold winter night. The heat has also been wonderful for easing aching muscles like an over sized heating pad. It's survived wonderfully when a soda spilled on it and it's machine washable. The queen and king sizes have two controls so each side of the bed can be set at different temperatures so everyone's happy.
It's been so great that I've already bought one for the guestroom and one to give as a gift. Now the rest of my family members are wanting one of their own!

I will say that this is not as heavy as the mattress protector, but is heavier than the Protect-a-bed, not so paper-like. It fit well but not too snugly, zipped up tight and will work fine to prevent anything from possibly entering the box spring. Happy I purchased it.

(More customer reviews)I have a european platform bed with a single mattress supported by wooden slats... Love the bed and the original mattress, which was designed for a platform bed, still does it's job in spite of the fact that I originally wanted a foam mattress and never purchased one.
The current mattress is still supportive but not nearly what I needed with an increasingly arthritic back.
I discovered by sleeping on the foam mattress in my trailer that I slept much better, with no pain and woke up with a far stronger back that I didn't have walk the pain out of, for 2 hours, after waking, when I slept on the firm, foam trailer mattress.
I was about to bite the bullet and purchase a firm, latex, foam 700 dollar mattress for my bed at home when I found this item.
It arrived with some odor so I aired it outside for 5 days before taking it indoors. The odor was gone by that point. The minimal sun exposure turned one side the amber color, like in the photo above while the unexposed side stayed white. My bed is now uniformly very firm and feels like a new, latex foam mattress. No lumps, bumps, uneven spots or uneven firmness.. Perfect in every way.... I now wake up, -- SPRING up, ---happy and pain free. One review here said that the topper was so firm that, if put on the floor, the person's body weight wouldn't cause the topper to depress enough so that the weight pressed through to the floor...
I was somewhat concerned about that review because it sounded just waaaaay too soft. I'm happy to report, that for a 190 pound male,.... the topper doesn't even squish a quarter inch with my full weight upon it..It is as EXTRA firm as anyone will EVER find in a foam topper....
