To start I would say the color that is shown in the Amazon picture is little different the the color of the item in hand. The picture they have up has the pink with a little more of a cooler color of pink, but in hand is has more of a warmer color pink. The best way I can describe it is the picture looks a bit cotton candy pink, but in hand it's more of a blush pink or rosy pink.
Fabric texture:
Smooth. Haven't had any problems with snagging or tearing. Not thick, but not so thin that I was able to see through it at all. I tested it's transparency by placing a pillow with a patten inside the cover and was unable to see any color or pattern through the fabric. This would allow someone who also has a duvet in another color other then white to use this cover without the color showing through.
Washing:
It washed fine and didn't shrink any that I could see. There was no color bleeding that I could see either. There was no pilling either.
Buttons:
This duvet cover uses buttons to keep the duvet enclosed inside. There is not any problems with the buttons coming unbuttoned. I have had duvet cover in the past where it seems they are always coming unbuttoned, but there is no problems like that with this one. The buttons are very well hidden and are a pearl color. There are 5 buttons on the twin size cover.
Additional Info:
There was no unpleasant smell to the fabric when opening the plastic package it arrived in. Sometimes fabrics come with a bad smell that takes several washes to make it go away. There was no problems like that with this one.
