The last pads I bought for this size mattress had to be stretched over the mattress and would bend it because they were too tight. Not these...these mattress pads fit perfectly! They have a thick, quilted top that sits over the mattress and a thinner, stretchy part that you pull around the back. I've washed them several times and they remain in great shape with no rips. The only issue I've had is that the sheets I bought for an 18x36 inch mattress are a bit snug because the pads are somewhat thick.
