It looks and functions exactly like a real grocery cart and is extremely sturdy. I had ordered a plastic one, but knew this active little boy would destroy that in a minute. I purchased an assortment of Melissa & Doug wooden produce and staple items (occasionally put in a box of animal crackers) and every day this little fellow becomes the "happy shopper" and strolls through the kitchen to show off his purchases. We've even added using play money for me to buy from him as if he is a delivery person. The cart was so great, after I gave him one for his house, I bought another to have at my house.
