(More customer reviews)I purchased this bedding for my five gerbils. Aspen litter is best for them as soft woods contain harmful oils. Other brands of aspen bedding essentially are large splinters that are difficult to handle bare-handed. The Native Earth Aspen Sani-Chips were well worth the cost. The litter looks like tiny squares of aspen and are very soft to handle. The litter is loose in the bag and therefore there are no large chunks of compressed bedding to pull out. It does not contain the occasional bit of bark and my gerbils have had a great time burrowing in it. I will certainly buy this product again.
