Don't imagine this to be a typically sturdy, crisp bed spread ... in fact it's more like a sheet (as you might surmise by the product description and the price). Also, the edges aren't bound quite as securely as you might hope. And finally, when mine arrived it was rather musty smelling ... I was afraid it might not wash out and that I wouldn't have the gift I was banking on.
So why the 5 stars?
Because it's BEAUTIFUL!!
(plus, the musty smell laundered out after one warm cycle with a minimal amount of detergent and the colours stayed fast)
And oh, what rich colours. With an elegant, earthy design. Not busy at all (as I often fear with repeated patterns such as this) - just subtle and warm.
In the end I had a hard time giving it away. In fact, I think I might have to get one for myself!
If you're drawn to this light-weight bed covering I can't recommend it highly enough. My intended recipient loves it as much as I do, as have other family and friends who've seen it. And, to my mind at least, it's a fantastic value (not too much $$ for a handsomely artistic room accent).
